The Belkin BSV401 Surge Protection Strip provides four protected AC outlets and two integrated USB charging ports for home-office electronics and portable devices. Connect up to four AC devices and two USB devices to an AC wall outlet, with protection designed for power surges, lightning strikes, AC contamination, short circuits, and voltage fluctuations including low-level spikes and drops. It is suitable for laptops, desktops, printers, routers, smartphones, and tablets.
Its two USB ports provide 2.4 amp charging maximum combined. The strip is rated for surges up to 525 joules and uses oversized metal oxide varistors (MOVs) to absorb excess electricity and release it as heat; fiberglass MOV covers help contain or smother fire if a large surge causes the MOVs to ignite. Three-line AC protection guards against surges between hot, neutral, and ground lines.
A damage-resistant housing protects the circuits from fire, impact, and rust. The large recessed power switch is designed to prevent accidental shutoff and simplify reboots, while sliding safety covers provide added protection. A Not-Grounded Indicator warns when the wall outlet is not properly grounded. The heavy-duty 2.0-meter power cord helps keep the strip positioned out of the way while supplying power to connected devices.
