The Braun ThermoScan® 6 Ear Thermometer measures infrared heat generated by the eardrum and surrounding tissue to provide temperature readings in seconds. Designed for home use, this infrared ear thermometer is suitable for the entire family, including newborns, because its wide-angle probe does not need to be fully inserted into the ear canal for an accurate measurement. Its colour-coded backlit LCD display makes results easier to interpret, showing green for normal, yellow for fever and red for high fever. The pre-warmed tip reaches 34°C to minimise the cooling effect that can occur during measurement. The Braun ThermoScan® 6 is clinically validated and clinically proven to be as accurate as rectal measurements in newborns. Accuracy is made easier with the ExacTemp® Stability Indicator, which uses a light and a beep to confirm a stable position in the ear and help ensure an accurate reading. The nightlight makes the display easier to use in the dark, while the fast, gentle design supports temperature checks for babies and the whole family. A clean disposable hygienic probe cover can be used for each measurement to help keep the lens clean and avoid cross-contamination when switching users. The thermometer includes 2 AA alkaline batteries and 21 Braun Hygiene Caps, so it is ready to use. It is intended for home usage only and is not intended for clinical use in a professional environment or to interpret hypothermic temperatures.
