Music is made more immersive through ambient edge lighting, which pulses and shifts with every track. Different lighting moods can be selected, ranging from a soft sunset glow to a vibrant pulse, while visual cues are also provided for power, pairing, battery level, and Auracast™. For demanding outdoor use, an IP68 waterproof and dust-proof design is provided, while drop-proof construction adds extra durability. Portability is improved through floating hooks and an adjustable strap, allowing the speaker to be carried easily wherever music is needed.

Up to 28 hours of maximum music playing time can be achieved, with up to 24 hours of standard playtime and an additional 4 hours being provided through Playtime Boost. Lossless audio capability is also supported for enhanced sound quality, while Auracast™ can be used to connect multiple compatible JBL Auracast™-enabled speakers for a larger and more immersive soundstage. Additional control and customization are provided through the JBL Portable App.
